‘Bring Back The Beat’ is the new release from Liverpool-based singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Pixey. In an interesting contrast to many of the tracks on her upcoming debut album, this track sees Pixey return to her sample-heavy roots, with a groovy horn sample that feels like a nostalgic callback to northern soul. “I wanted it to sound like a northern soul throwback, a call to move and feel the music,” she says. “A lot of the singles are more pop-heavy, so this track is a nod to my love of sampledelia.” Having said that, there’s still time for some fantastic production choices and pop stardom to seep into the tune. Pixey is gearing up to drop her debut album, Million Dollar Baby, on August 2nd, 2024, via Chess Club Records. -Dan Peeke
